The St. Tammany SALT Council participates in the XEROX Free Color Printers program, and we encourage all non-profits organizations and small businesses to consider this program that provides a FREE Xerox solid ink color printer. The program includes a three year warranty, and ownership of the printer at the end of the three year program. The SALT Council uses this printer for all our high resolution printing needs: brochures, flyers, letterhead, business communications, labels, etc.

The National Center on Elder Abuse (NCEA) has awarded a $10,000 grant to the St. Tammany SALT (Seniors And Law enforcement Together) Council to develop a multi-disciplinary elder justice network in support of Elderly Protective Services and victims of Elder Abuse known as the St. Tammany Elder Abuse Support Team or ST EAST (see the web site at WWW.STEAST.ORG).
The organizational session in Mandeville was very successful, with 34 people attending, representing over 25 organizations, companies, law enforcement agencies, and non-profits. There will continue to be volunteer opportunities in banking, financial services, elder care, law, government, medicine, and social services. Professionals from these fields are needed as volunteer consultants, especially in some of the most complex circumstances like financial exploitation, institutional abuse, or self neglect. These professionals do not have to be based in St. Tammany Parish, or even on the North shore if they can be contacted by phone or e-mail. If you are interested in this dynamic new program, call the SALT Message Center at 985-809-5450, or e-mail the Council at info@steast.org.
The SALT Council also needs “everyday” volunteers, to make phone calls, help at events, make presentations, and a perform a variety of other functions. Just call the SALT Message Center at 985-809-5450, or e-mail the Council at info@stsalt.org.

Winn-Dixie has authorized the St. Tammany SALT Council to participate in the Winn-Dixie Community Pals program. This great program creates the opportunity for Winn-Dixie to donate up to $7,200 per year - WITH YOUR HELP. Here is how it works: Winn-Dixie has assigned a unique bar code to the SALT Council. When it is scanned with a Winn-Dixie Customer Rewards Card, from then on, whenever the Customer Rewards Card is used for a purchase, Winn-Dixie donates a percentage of the total sale to the SALT Council. It costs you nothing, and you help the SALT Council raise needed funds to pay for our events and programs.
To download the SALT Council - Community Pals flyer with the Council's bar code, click on the "Downloads" page link, and click on the "Winn-Dixie Community Pals-SALT Council" Flyer. Or click HERE. When the flyer opens, or after you download it, print it and take it with you the next time you go to Winn-Dixie and ask the cashier to scan it with your Customer Rewards Card. You will begin to help the SALT Council immediately, while you benefit from the great products and prices at Winn-Dixie! And after you have had the bar code scanned, give the flyer to someone else, and they can become a contributor to the SALT Council, too.
The SALT Council is very appreciative of the opportunity to participate in this fantastic Winn-Dixie program!
